Montessori Curriculum

Our programs at The Young U Montessori School integrates Maria Montessori's philosophy with the elements of child development to create an enriching curriculum and exciting learning environment. We offer a flexible program to assist children in their learning processes and prepare them for their future through independent exploration and freedom of choice. Each child's unique needs, natural abilities and desire to learn are focused upon to provide them with an age-appropriate education. Children are encouraged by our teachers and their peers to progress at their own pace as they share enriching experiences.

The Montessori method is achieved by dividing the classroom in the following logical areas, ranging from basic to intermediate to advanced levels within each group. This allows the children to work at their own pace:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial
  • Language
  • Math
  • Art
  • Music
  • Geography
  • Science
...

It is important to understand that each of the categories are specifically designed to isolate a particular concept, so that the child is naturally drawn to work with it, with minimal interference from an adult. The children are able to check their own work, and learn their lessons in ways so that they comprehend the subject and have a complete grasp of it. This allows them to master abstract ideas, presented in a very concrete and realistic fashion. This allows the students not to be afraid of making mistakes, and to try new things in life, without fear.
